ShopShow ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Direct Commerce Pty Ltd (ABN pending), based in Perth, Western Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the ShopShow platform at shopshow.live.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account Information: When you connect your Shopify store, we receive your store name, store URL, email address, and product catalogue data via Shopify's API.
- Live Stream Data: When you broadcast or watch a live stream, we process video and audio data through Cloudflare's streaming infrastructure. We do not permanently store video streams unless you enable recording.
- Chat Messages: Messages sent in live stream chat rooms are stored temporarily for the duration of the stream and a short period after.
- Usage Data: We collect anonymised analytics about how you use ShopShow, including page views, feature usage, and stream performance metrics.
- Contact Information: If you join our waitlist or contact us, we collect your email address and any information you provide.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the ShopShow platform
- To display your Shopify products during live streams
- To facilitate real-time chat between sellers and viewers
- To process purchases via Shopify checkout
- To send you service-related notifications
- To improve and develop new features
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Shopify: We access your store data through Shopify's API with your permission. Purchases are processed entirely through Shopify's checkout.
- Cloudflare: Video streaming is handled by Cloudflare Stream. Their privacy policy applies to video delivery.
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services for hosting, analytics, and email communications.
4. Data Security
We protect your information using industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- HMAC verification for all Shopify webhook communications
- Secure token storage with automatic rotation
- Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Chat messages are retained for a maximum of 30 days after a stream ends. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
6. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
7. Shopify Data
When you install ShopShow on your Shopify store, we request specific permissions (scopes) to access your store data. We only access data necessary to provide our services. You can revoke access at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin. Upon uninstallation, we delete your store data within 48 hours, in compliance with Shopify's requirements.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Analytics are collected via privacy-respecting, anonymised methods.
9. Children's Privacy
ShopShow is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
